UT Smart Apps go U.S.

„GIS – Enabling a Smarter World“ was the slogan of this year’s Esri User Conference (Esri UC) from June 27 – July 1, 2016 in San Diego. With about 15 000 participants from more than 130 countries this GIS conference is one of the largest events of the industry. AED-SICAD was also represented with a booth in the trade show. Jack Dangermond, president of Esri Inc., welcomed the delegation from AED-SICAD and informed himself at the booth especially regarding the new UT Smart Apps – PLAN – CALC – EDIT.
Dr. Thomas Englert, CEO of AED-SICAD, and Gerald Kreuwel (left on the picture), Lead of UT Product Management presented the new UT Smart Apps PLAN, EDIT and CALC. These allow American utilities to quickly evaluate whether renewable energy sources can be connected to the grid. The Apps allow testing different technical and financial scenarios.
A further focus of AED-SICAD for the Esri UC was the integration of GIS with SAP. Not only the possibility of front-end integration but also back-end integration using the UT Integrator produced vivid interest of many visitors. Capturing data in the field for GIS and SAP using the Collector for ArcGIS and the UT Integrator also generated many topics for conversation.
