Data migration is the one-time conversion of data from a source system to a target system, with the aim to subsequently capture and manage these data exclusively in the target system. An example is the transition of a SICAD based utility application to the new AED-SICAD solution ArcFM UT. Here, the existing SICAD/open application will be entirely replaced at a specific date. This one-time data migration offers the opportunity to verify existing data and – if required – correct and improve erroneous data sets.
