Your present SICAD based applications will continue to exist for the next years. In parallel, you are already using ArcGIS based applications and therefore need solutions that allow you to manage your SICAD data also in an ArcGIS environment.
The SICAD Extensions for ArcGIS allow you to display SICAD data within ArcGIS desktop applications. This means, that existing SICAD data can be used directly together with ArcGIS data when working with an ArcGIS application.
For Internet applications, the tried and tested OGC conformity of the SICAD products allows you to access SICAD data via a WMS interface from any OGC compatible Internet application. With GIS Portal, an application-specific online access to ESRI data as well as to SICAD data and any other Map Services that support the WMS interface can be performed.
If more intelligent data structures for viewing and analysis functions are required, you can build up a secondary database in ArcGIS that will be adapted to the current database in the GDS via differential updates. For this purpose, we provide the GDS Data Bridge. The primary data continue being managed in SICAD/open applications, whereas at the same time new ArcGIS based applications are being used.
To build up a secondary database, an initial transition of the data is required. The update cycles for the data can be parameterized with user specific filters. For complex data, a differential update is provided.
