Your business is to plan, build and operate telecommunication and data networks. You would like the advantages of a sophisticated Geographical Information System (GIS) in conjunction with powerful network service management (NSM). SICAD-UT-TC offers both. The geo-component lets you plan and document the position of your network. The NSM component lets you manage all physical and logical connections independently of services or media. Fault management in the net-work, finding optimum and alternative routes and managing modifications in the network all speed up your business processes and safeguard the communication infrastructure.
SICAD-UT-TC is a Windows-NT-based GIS application that supports graphic and alphanumeric data capture and management of telecommunication and data net-works. SICAD-UT-TC doesn't stop at the front door, “In-house” or campus networks can be managed too. To offer optimum performance, the SICAD-UT graphical network information system from SICAD Utilities GmbH is integrated with Cable-NSM Network Service Management from Steinmayr GmbH, Oberhausen. The product features a consistent, state-of-the-art Windows interface. SICAD-UT-TC was developed to im-prove the efficiency of the following business processes:
Planning and building cable management systems
Determining free pipeline capacities
Planning inhouse cabling
Network modification
Fault management
Maintenance
Investment planning
Construction documentation
Planning information
SICAD-UT-TC is a system for the entire physical network. In combination with the components for electricity, gas and water you can also manage multisector documentation. SICAD-UT-TC is not dependent on any particular service. Telecommunication, data and signal services can all be mapped. SICAD-UT-TC can handle all cable media and transmission technologies, even radio relay networks, and can find potential causes of faults in the network. You can deactivate faulty elements and automatically find alternative switched paths. You can switch between graphical atlas and network topology display without any loss of efficiency. A planning tool also helps you to plan removals or to replan entire routes. Other features of SICAD-UT-TC include:
Adaptable Windows NT® interface
Storage of all data in an Oracle database
Expandable and configurable data model
Application controlled by means of a flexible data dictionary
Client-server-compatible configurations
Integration with Microsoft Office® products such as MS Access or Excel
Wide range of graphical design and capture methods
Variant planning
Powerful plan output
Internet-compatible, graphical information
SICAD-UT-TC gives you online access to routes and components that are free and available. You can generate cable intersections and splicing plans, as well as inserting and removing joint boxes and service boxes. SICAD-UT-TC graphically displays the current component and connection assignment, and gener-ates easy-to-understand allocation tables, patch lists and switching jobs. The system also handles automatic generation of switch instructions for switchovers or reswitching without the need for extensive training of personnel. The database offers full transparency for the network load and thus immediate
assistance with investment decisions.
