AED-SICAD GIS Portal on the Move in German Authorities

In October 2007, the District of Rotenburg, Federal State of Lower Saxony as well as the City of Straubing in Bavaria decided to introduce ArcGIS® based AED-SICAD applications for their specific communal and Web solutions.

GIS Portal: District-wide e-government in Rotenburg
For the North-German district of Rotenburg (upon Wümme), the process started with a EU-wide call for tender for a GIS Portal solution, including applications for specific communal tasks and e-government. AED-SICAD has been chosen primarily for technical and economical criteria.
With its future Web solution, Rotenburg intends to tap the full potential of the increasing possibilities offered by modern Internet GIS and Portal technologies. Under the header Communal Spatial Data Infrastructure, a flexible, multi-purpose Internet GIS is going to be set up. GIS Portal will act as a central platform, integrating different application areas and administrative levels for a district-wide e-government system. Here, the LinkManager of the GIS Portal acts as an efficient integration tool.

Integrated multi-purpose GIS for the City of Straubing
Also the Bavarian City of Straubing voted for AED-SICAD as a partner for the introduction of their new integrated GIS. The solution is based on ESRI's ArcGIS platform and consists of a number of AED-SICAD products for Local Authorities as well as the sewage application novaKANDIS by business partner CADMAP.
In a couple of months, a corporate Intranet solution with GIS Portal based on ArcIMS ® will be added, with up to 80 users when completed.
