| Description | "Multi-purpose" is the outstanding characteristic of AED-SICAD’s GIS Portal. As an Internet solution platform, it not only allows the configuration of general spatially related Web applications as well as the integration of specific technical applications in the sector Authorities, Land Management and Utilities, which have to be available via the Internet of a restricted Intranet access. In addition, GIS Portal acts as an ideal core
component of any GDI. Depending on individually protected user rights,
comprehensive information data and services can be provided centrally and
efficiently to clients, citizens or employees via an intuitive uniform web
interface. The user can chose to search for data or regions by address, area,
plan number or even by graphical data or a combination of these. Apart from
comfortable and intelligent navigation functions, GIS Portal offers a series of
viewing and analysis tools, drawing and editing functions as well as a
sophisticated user and resource management. Open interfaces allow for the
integration of third-party applications, Earth Viewers and 3D
services.
