City of Pforzheim Realizes Land Management Solution ALKIS® with AED-SICAD’s 3A Product Line
The City of Pforzheim focuses on the synergies of cadastre and communal applications. AED-SICAD and BARAL as a bidder consortium were commissioned with the setup of a communal ALKIS+ solution (ALKIS = Authoritative Real Estate Information System). The contract was signed by end of September 2005 and covers the entire product range 3A Server, 3A Editor, 3A Migration, 3A Web as well as the GIS Portal. After the regional capital Stuttgart, Pforzheim is now the second large city in the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg that voted for AED-SICAD as ALKIS-Partner.
The target is not only to migrate the Real Estate Cadastre to ALKIS, but also to convert the already state-of-the-art geoinformation system to a future-oriented basis with the standard technologies ArcGIS® and Oracle. AED-SICAD’s fully scalable solution will be used for geobase data and city topography, but also for advanced technical tasks within municipal administration, like the management of traffic areas as well as sewage-, green area- and tree cadastre.
According to the contract, the municipality ordered the database component 3A Server, 3A Editor for data qualification and update, the tool set for data integration combined in 3A Migration as well as 3A Web. GIS Portal, AED-SICAD’s new Internet platform, was acquired as a company license for the entire City Administration and provides the data in the Internet.
With ALKIS+, Pforzheim with its 115.000 inhabitants and nearly 100 km2 of urban area, heads towards a genuine ALKIS solution with a high potential of functions and applications, which covers far more than the Real Estate Cadastre.
The new GIS takes over the municipality’s “daily business”: The management of the digital real estate map and the urban topography, including regular data transfer to the Surveying Office of the State of Baden-Württemberg. In addition, the office for area management and geoinformation provides data for the technically oriented departments.
In the field of wastewater disposal, the independent company Stadtentwässerung Pforzheim (ESP) already signed an agreement with AED-SICAD partner CADMAP for a migration to novaKANDIS, the ArcGIS based sewage application.
